NMFTA recently made a change to the time allowed a consumer to report concealed damage to the carrier who delivered the freight. Effective April 18, 2015, the consumer is required to notify, either verbally or in writing, the carrier of concealed damage within five (5) days of delivery. This is a reduction of 10 days as the prior rule allowed for 15 days from the time of delivery.
